FOR WOMEN

Our Vision

Our vision is a robust community of financially independent, empowered women, based on quality education, sound advice, and an unwavering commitment to the financial planning process. I know it may sound strange coming from a male financial advisor, but I assure you that my passion for advising this incredible niche market is sincere, as I’ve consciously constructed my firm to focus on advice for women since I began in the industry over 20 years ago!

Challenges

At Tilton Wealth Management, we recognize that the challenges women face when planning their financial futures can look different from those faced by men. These differences are too often overlooked. Whether women investors are single, widowed, or divorced, they face unique issues that must be addressed today, in order to successfully plan for tomorrow. Women have longer life expectancies than men, yet they generally earn less over the course of their lifetimes. Women represent about 40 percent of the world’s labor force, yet hold just 1 percent of the world’s wealth. Adding to the disconnect, many women are faced with responsibilities around raising children, caring for elderly parents, dealing with inherited wealth, running a small business, being a breadwinner, or coping with loss through death or divorce. It can feel incredibly overwhelming and confusing to try planning for a successful financial future, and that’s where we come in.

How We Can Help

At Tilton Wealth Management, we believe in providing women with true financial empowerment. Women should have the confidence to make informed decisions in all aspects of their lives, including the role that finances play in supporting their goals. We first seek to listen and understand who our clients are, their core values, and what makes them unique. That helps us help them crystallize their goals and identify roadblocks. As a part of the process, we ensure a safe, collaborative environment to ask questions, share concerns, and provide ongoing education. We are committed to advising each client based on their personal goals and comfort level with money. Over time, we aim to provide increased financial clarity and greater control in the financial lives of our clients.

Tips for Identifying Your Best Advisor

While we believe that most women can benefit from working with a trusted advisor, we also know that the selection of that trusted advisor is a very personal one. It must be a good fit for everyone involved, which means that it’s critical for women investors to find an advisor who will not only help them lead financially secure lives but develop a relationship based on trust and respect. So how do you know if this advisor is the right advisor? Here are some questions to consider asking yourself:

  • Do I feel comfortable working with this advisor for the next 25 years of my life?
  • Does this person come recommended by a friend or a family member?
  • Do I believe that this advisor will help to alleviate my financial stress?
  • Is this a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional?
  • Will this advisor help me construct a prudent investment plan that feels comfortable to me?
  • Will this advisor help coordinate with other trusted advisors, including accountants or attorneys?
  • How is this advisor compensated, and is their fee structure fair and transparent?
  • Will this advisor implement a dynamic plan that is regularly reviewed to help keep me on track?
