Guest Overview

Turney Duff
Author, Media Contributor and Former Wall Street Trader
Join us for a book club-style conversation with Turney Duff, author, media contributor, speaker, and former Wall Street hedge fund trader whose 2013 New York Times bestselling memoir, The Buy Side: A Wall Street Trader's Tale of Spectacular Excess, offers an unfiltered look inside the high-stakes world of Wall Street and the excess, pressures, and personal consequences that came with it.
A Kennebunk High School friend of Nathaniel’s, Turney graduated from Ohio University with a degree in journalism in 1993 before taking an unexpected turn into finance. Over a 15-year Wall Street career, he worked at several prominent firms, including Morgan Stanley, Galleon Group, and Argus Partners. His experiences during those years, and the remarkable highs and lows that accompanied them, ultimately became the foundation for The Buy Side and his later career as a writer and media personality.
Since leaving Wall Street, Turney has worked extensively as a writer and ghostwriter, contributing to multiple bestselling books. He also served as a consultant for the first four seasons of Showtime’s hit series Billions, contributed to CNBC, appeared as a featured commentator on The Filthy Rich Guide, and was featured in the PBS FRONTLINE documentary To Catch a Trader.
